Places to visit along the Tour: Lima / Trujillo / Chiclayo.

Day 01: Lima – Arrival

Reception at the airport and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 02: Lima: City Tour & Archaeological Museum

Morning free to rest after your international travel. We recommend you to sleep long enough to be ready to start this unforgettable journey through this wonderful country. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, guided city tour by the most attractive and important sites in Lima: the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s Historical Center, visiting San Martin Square, the Main square, the GovernmentPalace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the CathedralMuseum, the Church of Santo Domingo with the tombs of Saint Rose and Saint Martin of Porras and Lima’s Colonial Balconies. You will visit the Convent and Church of Saint Francisco. From here, we leave Lima downtown towards the district of Pueblo Libre to visit The Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology that comprises the biggest collection of pre-Hispanic objects. Evening free to rest as the next Day our guide will pick you up very early.

Day 03: Lima / Trujillo: Temples of the Sun and the Moon – Huanchaco – Chan Chan.

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Trujillo by flight, arrival and transfer to the Hotel, afterwards visit to the giants adobe constructions built by the Mochica culture in the 5th century, called Temple of the Sun, considered the largest adobe pyramid in Peru, and the Temple of the Moon, housing an extensive burial ground and some fine polychrome murals in which their deity is often printed. Is believed that both were complementary, one administrative and the other religious. Proceed to Huanchaco beach, well frequented by beach-goers and surfers, you will have the opportunity to appreciate, during lunch, the local fishermen surfing the waves in their traditional “Caballitos de Totora”, little reed boats used for fishing since pre Inca times, by northern Peruvians. In the afternoon, visit the largest mud archaeological complex of the pre-Hispanic America, Chan Chan, ancient capital of the Chimú Empire (13th Century), visiting the Temple del Arco Iris (rainbow), the site museum and the Tshudi Palace.

Day 04: Trujillo – Chiclayo: Túcume pyramids

Early in the morning, after breakfast, transfer to the bus station to take the public bus to Chiclayo (2 hours 30 minutes aprox.). Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel.
After lunch, drive 40 minutes from Chiclayo to visit the archaeological complex of Túcume or Valley of the Pyramids, an important archaeological complex of the Lambayeque culture (BC 1000 / 1350 AD), consisting of pyramids from which the extensive pre-columbian urban site can be surveyed.

Day 05: Chiclayo: Huaca Rajada – Sipán Royal Tombs Museum

After a typical northern breakfast, begin excursion to the impressive necropolis of Huaca Rajada, a Mochica funeral center where a great number of tombs have been discovered and where the tombs of the Old Lord of Sipan (3rd Century) and the Lord of Sipan (5th Century), famous for its objects in gold and semi-precious stones, were unearthed in the decade of 1980’s by Peruvian archaeologists led by Dr. Walter Alva. Transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon, visit to the Sipan Royal Tombs Museum.

Day 06: Chiclayo – Lima

Day 01: Lima

Arrival, assistance and transfer to the selected hotel in Lima, lodging.

Day 02: Lima

Breakfast. In the morning tour of the city and the ArchaeologicalMuseum, rest of the Day at leisure; lodging.

Day 03: Lima – Arequipa

Breakfast, transfer to the airport, flight to the White City of Arequipa. Arrival, reception and transfer to the selected hotel; in the afternoon, guided tour by the historical center, lodging.

Day 04: – Arequipa – Colca Canyon.

Breakfast. Departure heading to the Colca Canyon, in the journey we will appreciate the vulcanoes Misti, Chachani, Sabancaya, arrival in Chivay, the entrance gate to the valley; lodging in the selected hotel.

Day 05 – Colca Canyon – Arequipa

Breakfast. Departure heading to the Cruz of the Condor lookout, the tour will continue towards Yaque, Cabanaconde and other small villages along the road, return to Arequi-pa, arrival at the end of the afternoon, transfer and lodging at the hotel in Arequipa.

Day 06 – Arequipa – Puno – Sillustani

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport, flight to Juliaca, arrival and transfer to Puno located at the shores of the legendary lakeTitikaka. On the road along Juliaca and Puno we will stop to visit Sillustani, to appreciate the chullpas or funeral pre-Inca towers located along the lake Umayo. Transfer and lodging in to the hotel.

Day 07 – Puno – Sailing Lake Titikaka – Puno

Breakfast. Transfer to the port of Puno , cruise over the Titikaka Lake, the tour sails to the surprising floating islands of the Uros Indian, the sail will continue towards the Taquile island. Return to Puno , arrival at late afternoon, transfer to the selected hotel, lodging.

Day 08 – Puno – Cusco

Breakfast. Transfer to the bus station, departure to Cusco . During the journey, tour of the Archaeological complex of Pucara, the Temple of Viracocha in Rajchi and, if time allows it, Andahuaylillas and its beautiful chapel called The Andean Sixtina Chapel, arrival to Cusco . Transfer to the selected hotel, lodging.

Day 09 – Cusco

Breakfast. Morning at leisure, in the afternoon visits to the city and their surroundings, the four nearby ruins: Sacsayhuamán, Kenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. Lodging

Day 10 – Cusco – The Sacred Valley of the Incas

Breakfast. Heading through the Sacred Valley, coinciding with the market and day of fair and market, we will visit the colored market of Pisaq, we will continue toward Urubamba and we will arrive to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Complex, includes lunch; lodging at Ollantaytambo in one of the cozies selected Hostels.

Day 11 – The Sacred Valley of the Incas – Machu Picchu

Breakfast. Transfer to the train station of Ollantaytambo where we will take the train to the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu. At the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will take the bus that will transfer us to the citadel of Machu Picchu, guided visit of the archaeological group, lunch in Aguas Calientes, free time to walk for the surroundings; lodging in the selected hotel.

Day 12 – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Breakfast. Day at leisure, in the afternoon we take the return train to Cusco , arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 13 – Cusco – Lima – Nazca

Breakfast, transfer to the Cusco airport, return flight to Lima. Arrival, reception and transfer to the Cruz del Sur crucero bus service going to the city of Nazca, located amid the extensive coastal desert, reception and transfer at the hotel.

Day 14 – Nazca – Lima

Breakfast, transfer to the Nazca aerodrome and flight over the lines and draws of Nazca.
After, transfer to the bus station and return to Lima.
Overnight at the selected hotel.

Day 15 – Lima.

Day 01: Lima

Day 02: Lima – City Tour

Breakfast in the hotel.
Morning free to recover from the long previous journey. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, guided city tour by the most attractive and important sites in Lima: the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima’s HistoricalCenter, visiting San Martin Square, the Main Square, the GovernmentPalace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, and the Church of Santo Domingo with the tombs of Saint Rose and Saint Martin of Porras and Lima’s Colonial Balconies. Day 03: Lima – Puno

Breakfast in the hotel.
Transfer to the airport and connection to Puno by domestic flight. Arrival to Puno and transfer to the selected hotel. Lodging.

Day 04: Puno – Titicaca Lake

Breakfast in the hotel.
Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable sail tour on the waters of the TiticacaLake to the “Floating Islands” of the Uros Indians. These ancient inhabitants of the lake, known as the Water Tribe, have built their own “islands” by periodically adding new layers of a type of reed unique to the area called “Totora” (Scirpus Totora), vegetable fiber from the Papiro family. After lunch in a local Taquile Inn, we have a walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6 km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at your hotel. Evening free.

Day 05: Puno – Cusco

Breakfast in the hotel.
Early transfer to the bus station, to leave heading to Cusco . During the journey, tour of the Archaeological complex of Pucará, the Temple of Viracocha in Rajchi and, if time allows it; Andahuaylillas and its beautiful chapel called The Andean Sistine Chapel.
Arrival to Cusco and transfer to the selected hotel.

Day 06: Cusco : City tour

Breakfast in the hotel.
Remaining morning free to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Cusco on a guided tour visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucará and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco , famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons. Return to your hotel.

Day 07: Cusco – Sacred Valley

Breakfast in the hotel.
Heading through the Sacred Valley, coinciding with the market and fair Day, we will visit the coloring market of Pisaq, we will continue toward Urubamba and we will arrive to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Complex, includes lunch; lodging at Ollantaytambo in one of the cozies selected hostels.

Day 08: Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu

Breakfast in the hotel.
Transfer to the train station of Ollantaytambo where we will take the train to the lost city of the Incas: Machu Picchu. At the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will take the bus that will transfer us to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the guided visit of the archaeological group, lunch in Aguas Calientes, free time to walk for the surroundings; lodging in the selected hotel.

Day 09: Machu Pichu – Cusco

Day at leisure, in the afternoon we take the return train to Cusco , arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10: Cusco – Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata

Breakfast in the hotel.
Transfer to the airport and connection to Puerto Maldonado by plane.
Arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport.Greeting and transportation from the airport to the river port.Set out on outboard motorboat down the Madre de DiosRiver to RESERVA AMAZÓNICA (45 min). Arrival at the lodge. Welcome drink, accommodations and lunch at the lodge. Guided walk along the lodge’s Trail System or Evening Nature Presentations on Amazonian topics. Typical dinner at the lodge. Evening walk, sounds identification and search of Amazon animal footprints.

Day 11: Tambopata

Excursion to RolinIsland with the possibility of observing various species of monkeys.
Buffet-style tropical breakfast at the lodge. Visit to the wetlands flooded ecosystem.
Lunch at the lodge. Boat ride up the Madre de DiosRiver. 1-hour trek to LakeSandoval.
Rowboat excursion around the lake. Possible swim in the lukewarm waters.
Sunset and moonrise observation. Return downstream to RESERVA AMAZÓNICA with a chance of observing caimans and nocturnal birds along the ride. Evening Nature Presentations on Amazonian topics. Typical dinner at the lodge. Overnight at RESERVA AMAZÓNICA

Day 12: Tambopata – Puerto Maldonado – Lima – Pisco – Paracas

Buffet-style tropical breakfast at the lodge.
Return to Puerto Maldonado , transportation to the airport and visit to the Butterfly Farm. Departure from Puerto Maldonado airport to Lima. Arrival and reception in Lima and transfer to the Bus Station going to the city of Pisco. Reception at the Pisco bus station and transfer to the selected hotel. Lodging.

Day 13: Paracas – Ica – Nazca – Ica – Lima

Breakfast in the hotel.
Very early transfer to the Bay of Paracas; cruise tour to the Ballestas Island by motorized boat, where we can observe sea lions, boobies, pelicans, penguins and marine birds. On the way back, from the water, we can also see the “Candelabro” (Candelabrum), a giant figure etched in the sand on the side of a hill in the style of the Nazca Lines
After arrival to Ica, we will transfer to Ica airport to take an aircraft flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. These enormous lineal drawings of animals, birds and geometric figures, remain etched in the desert and they can only be appreciated from the air.
After flying over the Nazca markings, we will do a guided visit to the Regional Museum of Archaeology to learn a little more about the Nazca and Paracas pre-Inca cultures and the legendary town of wizards and witches called Cachiche. Transfer to the bus station and return to Lima.Transfer to the selected hotel for overnight.

Day 14: Lima

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the international connection.

Day 01 : Lima

International arrival in Lima.
Meeting at Lima. Airport and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 02: Lima: City Tour & Archaeological Museum

Morning at leisure. Free time for lunch. Afternoon city tour roving the most attractive and important sites in Lima.: the “City of Kings”. The tour includes Lima. Historical Center, visiting San Martin Square, the Main square, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Cathedral Museum, we will visit the Convent and Church of Saint Francisco. From here, we departure Lima downtown towards the district of Pueblo Libre to visit The Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology that comprises the biggest collection of pre-Hispanic objects, we then drive through the residential district of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana: a ceremonial and administrative center of Lima Culture built in the II century A.C. that the Incas considered as “ñaupallaqta” or sacred town. Transfer to the selected hotel.

Day 03: Lima / Cusco : City tour and visit to nearby ruins

In the morning transfer to Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco . Meeting upon arrival and transfer to your selected hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the city of Cusco on a guided tour visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive out of the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 04: Cusco : Sacred Valley of the Incas

Early morning excursion to the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit to the picturesque Indian Pisac Market held on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, the shopping paradise of the Andes where barter is still practiced. In the afternoon, passing through the towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the lower jungle. You can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby town, and get a good idea of what this strategic military, religious, and agricultural center was like during the era of the Inca Empire. Late afternoon return to Cusco and transfer to your selected hotel for overnight.

Day 05: Cusco : Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes / Cusco

The day begin with an early morning rise to transfer to Cusco train station for a three hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as “The Lost City of the Incas”. Arrive at Aguas Calientes station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the incredible site of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the MainPlaza, the CircularTower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you will have free time to stroll around the archaeological site on your own. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, back to Cusco by train, and transfer to your hotel.Evening free. Overnight at your selected hotel.

Day 06: Cusco / Manu

Early departure from Cusco on one of our vehicles especially equipped for the road, crossing amazing Inter Andean valleys and picturesque peasant communities. At midday, we will visit the pre-Incas tombs of Ninamarca known as “Chullpas” and then Paucartambo, a typical colonial town of great importance those years and that still preserves its essence. Going on with our journey, we will go up to the Valley of Acjanacu at 3,850 m.a.s.l. From here, we will start going down, passing by the Cloud forest, a rich area in endangered species such as the Spectacle Bear and the Cock of the Rocks, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc. Finally, we will have our first night at a comfortable campsite.

Day 07: Manu – Cloud Forest and Atalaya

Very early, comfortably installed on an observation platform called “Lek”, we will be able to appreciate the flirting dance of the Cock of the Rocks, the national bird of Peru that has showy bright red and orange fur. After having breakfast, we continue our journey on our vehicle (see optional 1 – Mountain biking) crossing the high jungle, towards the town of Pilcopata (see optional 2 – River rafting). After 30 minutes bus ride we will arrive to the AtalayaPort, situated at the shore of Alto Madre de Dios River, at 700 m.a.s.l., where our river equipment is installed. Once the motor boat is loaded with the needed equipment, we will start our way down by AltoMadre de DiosRiver towards our private reserve of “Erika Lodge” where we will spend the next two nights. Short walk around the lodge.

Day 08: Manu – Boca Manu

After breakfast, we will have our 4-hour canoe trip by the AltoMadre De DiosRiver leading to Boca Manu. It is a small village where we can purchase the last cold drinks and food. Immediately after that, we will sail on Manu river, in Reserved Zone, in order to camp at the Checking Point of Limonal, where we will have a short walk through the forest and we will be have a great chance of finding a great diversity of insects, birds, monkeys and other species around there.

Day 09: Manu – Cocha Salvador

After registering on the official visitor book and having breakfast, we will get into a boat towards Salvador Cocha (lagoon), where we will spend the next two nights. During this journey, we can admire lots of birds, caimans and some mammals. We will also be able to have a short night walk around the camp, using the catamaran of Cocha Salvador and helping ourselves with lanterns. We will be able to watch the Black Caiman that goes out looking for its meal.

Day 10: Manu – Salvador Cocha and Otorongo Cocha

We will visit Salvador Cocha in the morning, sailing on the Catamaran again. We can observe some fauna species such as the Giant Otter (Pteronura brasiliensis) an endangered specie, the Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Níger), the Spider Monkey (Ateles paniscus), etc, and some flora species. Then we will return to the camp where the staff will be waiting to offer us an energetic breakfast in order to be prepared to cross the primary forest with the greatest diversity of species in the world. We will arrive after walking to Otorongo Cocha for 4 hours. This is a lagoon where there is a 15 meter watching tower that allows us to admire the landscape of the surrounding forest and more chances to see the family of Giant Otters.

Day 11: Manu – Salvador Cocha and Private Reserve of Tambo Blanquillo

Today, we will get on board to sail by Manu river arriving at Boca Manu: a little village situated at the meeting point of Manu and Alto Madre de Dios rivers. Since here, the river is called Madre de Dios, becoming into the hydrographical axis of Madre de Dios department. After this journey, in the afternoon, we will arrive to the Private Reserve of Tambo Blanquillo where we will spend one more night involved by the magic atmosphere of the jungle.

Day 12: Manu – Macaw Clay Lick

Very early, before breakfast, we will go to the Macaw lick on a covered catamaran. The lick is a clay river wall where different parrot and macaw species descend to take the mineral salts they need for their diet balance every morning. The amazon parakeets and blue head parrots begin with an unforgettable show of colourful wildlife, and finally the fantastic macaws join the daily ceremony. At the end of this activity, we will go along Madre de Dios river to spend the night in an appropriate beach for camping.

Day 13: Manu / Cusco

After an early rising, we will continue along the river towards the small port of Atalaya in order to departure Manu. We will arrive Cusco at night and transfer to the selected hotel for overnight.

Day 14: Cusco / Lima / International Departure

At the appropriate time, transfer to Cusco Airport to board your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, meet and transfer to your selected hotel until your transfer to the international airport to board your international flight.
